Inauguration of DESFA’s New Compression Station in Komotini
In a minimalistic yet impactful ceremony held at DESFA’s new facilities in Komotini, the new state-of-the-art compression station was officially inaugurated.
The event took place inside a specially designed installation (tent) set up within the station premises, bringing guests directly to the heart of the system’s operations.
During the ceremony, attended by representatives of the government, local authorities, and the energy sector, it was highlighted that the station was constructed in record time during the energy crisis, serving as tangible proof of the country’s ability to strengthen its energy security.
Through structured tours, attendees had the opportunity to experience the infrastructure up close and gain insight into the systems that will ensure energy adequacy and the seamless flow of natural gas in all directions.
Hosting the event on-site, under the striking tent installation positioned among the compression units, successfully emphasized the transition of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace into a true energy crossroads for the wider region.
